A bit about me, from the beginning:
When I was a child my father was the photographer of the family. He let me use his camera a lot; I guess that is how I began my story. This was my favorite picture when I was a kid.
When high school came around I took an amateur interest in photography. A few years later I went from an interest in photography to Philosophy studies at the University of Central Florida. After studying philosophy I became enthralled with the human perspective and how to tell a story. Not much thereafter I changed my major from Philosophy to Art and began to speak of the 'human perspective' through photography. Meanwhile I also became interested in languages and jumped head first into a three month program in 2007 in Bergamo, Italy which led me to photography/art studies in 2008 at the Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy.
Shortly after I returned temporarily to the USA to finish my associates degree in Art only to transfer to Marist College and attend Lorenzo dei Medici - Institute of Art through Marist in Italy from 2008-2011. I was hooked from there on out. From the summer of 2009 to the summer of 2010, I studied courses in color theory, design, photography, digital photography, Photoshop, images and their relationship to words, and the effect of the image. As well, I attended specific courses on artists such as Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo which were monumental in strengthening my artistic direction mostly because of where we studied several famous artists' original works face-to-face in the museums available to us in Florence and Rome.
I graduated from Lorenzo dei Medici in 2010 in Florence, Italy with an American BA in Fine Art and knowledge to last me the rest of my life.
I now refuse to take 'any' picture and live for the day to take the 'perfect' picture. I encourage any and all to critique my work as well as honor it by having my work hang on a particular wall in your home. My style is 'art' photography and as far as I am concerned, human beings and life in itself is an art. Why not keep those moments forever?
